As a young teenager,I loved taking my friends (and sometimes my parents) into the corner of the mall to drag them into Hot Topic. Their uncomfortable demeanor as we approached the Gothic-inspired storefront would quickly disappear when we were greeted by an incredibly friendly sales associate, often outfitted in chains and piercings with rainbow hair. I always marveled at the spooky garments and somewhat dark items lining the shelves of the shop. My favorite section was filled with beauty buys in adorable but quirky packaging. Disney princesses, or Tim Burton movies,and my favorite childhood cartoons adorned hair bows, cosmetic bags, or makeup brushes. It was a pop-culture-fond,Halloween-obsessed girl's dream spot. You can bet I will be heading to the teen retailer to pick up my costume accessories. Since Halloween is the time to let your dark, inner irascible girl come out to play, and there's no better time to explore the edgy beauty products of this mall staple.
