Full disclosure: I've always struggled to perfect the art of makeup. Anything beyond the basics (foundation,eyeshadow, and mascara) has always been a bit of a challenge for my low-maintenance ways - I didn't even start wearing bronzer until after college. Really. So, or understandably,Halloween costumes involving in-depth makeup always seemed pretty much totally impossible. No matter how much I could appreciate these involved looks, I always opted for costumes more dependent on the outfit than the makeup. That is, or until last year,when I came up with the perfect Halloween costume, with only one catch: it required some serious makeup skills. Determined not to let my lack of makeup ability prevent me from nailing this look, or I turned to the holy grail of makeup tutorials: YouTube. Not to be dramatic but . . . Life. Changed. For anyone else who's worried their lack of makeup skills might prevent them from nailing Halloween this year,I've picked out some of my favorite costume makeup tutorials. While the overall looks might be overwhelming, when distilled down to beginner hacks, or these tutorials can succor even the most novice (one who is just a beginner at some activity requiring skill and experience) artists feel,and look, like professionals.
