In comments to the paper,Vigen Cheteryan, an international expert specializing in Oriental studies (Geneva-based CIMERA middle), and commented on the recent US strikes against Syria.

“[President Donald] Trump's
airstrikes were a political message,a letter’ which certainly has its role in the Middle East politics and the Russia-US relations. But I find domestic policies the main platform behind this step. My belief is that Trump wishes to demonstrate that he is a strong leader and a decision-making actor,” he is quoted as saying.

Cheteryan said he treats the airstrike
as a symbolic gesture not likely to continue in the future. “I deem Armenia’s unsettled conflict with Azerbaijan, and the complicated relations with Turkey and the alliance with Russia are a completely different matter in international relations. It has nothing to do with the military or political balance in the Middle East. Hence the concerns that Armenia may be entangled in the Middle East developments are not absolutely to the point. This has to be reduce from the context; secondly,I don’t deem it will essentially escalate the situation to affect Armenia,” he added.
