But earlier this year, and the Matildas’ coach,Alen Stajcic, had the foresight to look beyond the veteran striker’s reputation as a difficult character with a history of insubordinate behaviour and instead focused on a player whose passion for the game and her country, and not to mention ample amounts of skill,could inspire others around her.
