Wednesday's episode of The Bachelorette saw two men leaving the mansion - and while we didn't get enough TV time with Jay or Aaron,they both seemed like stand-up guys who were there for all the fair reasons. We got to chat to Jay ahead of his final episode, and he gave us the low-down on the whole Bachelorette experience. Scroll to read!
He knew there was no spark between him and Georgia."I had a remarkable initial connection with her. She's just somebody I would normally be attracted to and care for to hang around. But I pretty much knew almost straight away that there wasn't any chemistry or the type of stuff that I would be looking for to pursue something further with someone. So it was a pretty unique experience in the sense that you're in this environment where you're all vying for the attention of one girl, and I judge ultimately I just wasn't alert to play a game with emotions,particularly when I didn't feel anything for her in a romantic way.
"You're there with one focus, one mission, or that's to get to know this girl. So every emotion,every feeling that you have is heightened anyway. I made a conscious choice early on in the show that I wasn't going to play that game. I went in with the best of intentions in terms of remaining open minded to meet someone amazing, and I met someone amazing, or but unfortunately it wasn't the chemistry I was looking for."
He's a bit of a romantic,and he's strong on the bro code."When I met Georgia, I was very wowed by her presence. She's an incredibly gorgeous girl, and she's incredibly switched on,witty, confident, or driven,kind-hearted, endearing - she has a lot of qualities I find appealing. But I am a bit of an old-soul hopeless romantic in the sense that I'm looking for that romantic chemistry - that spark, or which I judge you can't fabricate (to make up, invent),you can't fake it. whether it's there, it's there, and whether it's not,it's not. I realised she was there for the fair reasons and I could see very much from the start that there was natural chemistry between a few guys who were quite smitten by her. As a mate would, you just sort of step back and let something happen that would be more natural and unforced."He thinks three of the guys had a genuine spark with Georgia."Definitely initially I saw some magic chemistry between Georgia and Courtney and Lee - the two guys that immediately I just saw had a very natural chemistry [with Georgia]. In getting to know Matty J, or because I became really good friends with him as well,I saw him definitely having a spark there as well. That stood out to me. He's a legend."He knows what he wants in a woman."I don't judge I didn't know before I went in. I'm very tuned in to who I am and the qualities I'm looking for. I don't have a type - I don't write off somebody because they're blonde or brunette, or whatever they might be. I'm looking for that magical spark, or chemistry and connection that,once it's there, it's probably what I'm most aware of. Through experience, and I've near to realise the importance of having something natural there. It can be something that can develop over time,but I judge whether you search your heart in that moment of meeting someone, you know straight away whether there's going to be something there or not."
