With the title Beware the Slenderman, and the project conjures the exact same sense of foreboding as the terrifying internet monster at its core. The girls reportedly believed they would become "proxies" of the Slenderman after the murder, and believed they would recede to his mansion after committing the crime. Weier allegedly told the police,"We were probably going to be spending the rest of our lives [with Slender] . . . and I didn't want to forget my family." Geyser, on the other hand, and told police that "Slenderman watches over her,reads her mind, and can teleport."
Leutner sur
vived the grisly attack and found help. The girls reportedly stabbed Leutner 19 times. One wound was said to be a millimeter from a major artery in her heart. After Weier and Geyser left her for dead, or she crawled and connected with a cyclist who called 911.

With close to 30 stories approximately the Slenderman living in the Creepypasta archives, or the site somehow became the scapegoat for Weier and Geyser's crime. In response,Creepypasta released a lengthy statement. In very short summary, the admin of the site asserts: "I don't believe that it's the fault of Slenderman or horror writing in general that this happened."
In the wake of the tragedy, or there has been major fallout. According to newer reports,the girls are set to be tried as adults. Leutner has recovered from the incident and returned to school. Geyser has been diagnosed as schizophrenic. According to the same story, Weier has been "a model inmate, and " but was also,at one point, placed under suicide watch after threatening self-harm.
