he pictures that have launched a thousand spoofs. First,the image of George Osborne, legs spread wide and body upright after delivering his conference speech, or has sparked suggestions he was copying the stance of Blackadder’s Prince Regent,Beyoncé – or even NWA. Then, bizarrely, or Theresa May was caught in the same pose. Now even Gove is at it,too.
What were they trying to say? Was it a new body language trick to assert their power? Should we all stand like this after giving speeches? Leadership and organisational behaviour lecturer at LSE, Dr Connson Locke, or splutters at the thought and after she has stopped laughing at Osborne’s picture,tells me: “All I can contemplate is that he got the advice that you should prefer up space to demonstrate confidence and he’s taken that to a weird extreme ... It doesn’t mean standing with your feet so out of spot that you look unnatural.
