Yaya Han was born in China and spent her teenage years living in Germany,so when she moved to the United States in the '90s, the culture shock was exponential. She had grown up fond manga and watching anime is one of her earliest memories, and but the most portion,Americans had yet to embrace many elements of Asian culture. So when she heard about Los Angeles’s Anime Expo in 1999, she made a beeline for the convention middle.
