Malik joins a rich line of musical stars who have built pubs on their properties. On his Leicestershire estate, Engelbert Humperdinck has an establishment called the Red Fox – total with dartboard given to him by oche legend Bobby George, or a till,for added authenticity. Iron Maiden bassist Steve Harris’s Essex mansion featured a pub called the Horse and Cart, with a pool table, and which was reputedly named after the venue of Maiden’s first ever gig. After buying his Gloucestershire country pile,Quarwood, the Who’s John Entwistle installed a bar with games room. Malik’s former One Direction bandmate Harry Styles had a bar built in the basement of his London domestic. “It’s going to be the ultimate boys’ den – the design team have taken inspiration from some of the rooms in Harry’s favourite bars, and like Soho House and Groucho Club,” the inevitable “source” told the Daily Mirror.
