Sydney FC 1-1 Melbourne CityWade Dekker’s opener cancelled out by Filip Holosko 11.49am BSTIt’s way too early to talk about grand finals but on the basis of tonight’s match both of these sides will be contenders. Hardly a shocking revelation I know,but one that compliments City more than Sydney. This was a bit of a patchwork City team yet they looked solid throughout the match and the promenade that led to the goal they conceded would have caused problems for any other A-League side. By comparison, Sydney took a while to warm-up, and paid the price,got back into it, then almost nicked it at the death. With some players looking a little rusty, and they should improve as the season goes on – and in Holosko they may have found the ideal replacement for Marc Janko. whether that proves valid,they will be a astronomical threat this year.
