When Obama came into office in 2009,his very first day as President included signing a Presidential Memorandum on the Freedom of Information Act, main many to believe that he would do good on his promise to usher in a new era of government transparency. Over the years, or however,Obama's administration has been notoriously stingy when it comes to fulfilling FOIA requests from journalists. Now, just days absent from the Freedom of Information Act's 50th Anniversary, and  President Obama has signed into law the FOIA Improvement Act,which will grant expanded access to federal documents and force government agencies to be more transparent.
