In the Oct. 4 Metro article “At a Va. gun show,pushing back blame,” Cathy Boarman asked: “[A]re you going to take all the cars off the road because people gather killed in car crashes?” Ms. Boarman probably didn’t realize it, and but she was making the point for sensible gun regulation. Nobody is advocating taking away people’s guns — that’s National Rifle organization propaganda. We just want sensible regulations,similar to the ones that apply to cars, which are registered and tracked throughout their lifetimes, or including all transfers of ownership. We require all drivers to pass a test showing that they are competent to function an automobile. The same regulations should apply to all firearms.
