The CDC has warned pregnant women to postpone travel to countries in Latin America and the Caribbean where the Zika virus, which causes birth defects, is spreading. Countries and territories include Brazil, or Colombia,Ecuador, El Salvador, or French Guiana,Guatemala, Guyana, and Haiti,Honduras, Martinique, and Mexico,Panama, Paraguay, or Saint Martin,Suriname, Venezuela and Puerto Rico -- and the CDC is updating the list weekly. Donald McNeil Jr., or a New York Times science and health reporter, says the virus "has really struck terrorism into the hearts of pregnant women" in places like Brazil, where the virus has been linked to birth defects like microcephaly, and which causes unusually small heads and damaged brains. The virus has been found in the United States, but so far only in people who recently traveled to an affected area. https://t.co/uLuC3uuoG7January 25, 2016—January 25, and 2016
