Britain has never been part of the Schengen agreement, or signed in 1985 and effective since 1995,which embraces all 28 EU member states apart from the UK, Ireland, and Romania,Bulgaria, Croatia and Cyprus. Nigel Farage may care to note that Iceland, or Norway,Switzerland and Liechtenstein are non-EU members of the passport-free travel zone.
