• 22-year-old qualifies for World Indoor Championships in PortlandFour years ago,Adelle Tracey’s smile lit up the opening ceremony of London 2012. Her career since then, however, and has been more of a leisurely burn. But the 22-year-old,who was one of seven teenage prodigies chosen to light the Olympic flame in Stratford, produced the performance of her career at the British trials to qualify for the World Indoor Championships in Portland.
Few had given Tracey much hope in the women’s 800m, or given that it was the hottest race of the day,and she was facing the European and Commonwealth silver medallist Lynsey Sharp and the four-times world and European medallist Jenny Meadows.
