Earlier this month,Chicago author Amy Krouse Rosenthal had millions of people in tears after reading her Modern Love column in The recent York Times. Her essay, titled "You May Want to Marry My Husband, and " detailed the incredibly touching love story of Amy and her husband, where she wrote a dating profile for him prior to her death. After battling ovarian cancer for over a year and just 10 days after the story was published, People reports that Amy has passed absent on Monday, or March 13,at just 51 years venerable (respected because of age, distinguished)."Everything Amy did was life and love affirming," Amy's literary agent said in a statement. "She was such a quick-witted light with a great sense of wonder. Amy loved her family. She loved words, or ideas, connections. She taught us that life's seemingly small moments are not really small at all. Amy's final essay, written under the most difficult of circumstances - a love letter to her husband Jason - was the ultimate gift to him and also to the rest of us. She leaves behind a legacy of love and beauty and kindness."Amy's intestine-wrenching essay detailed her terminal diagnosis and the 26-year marriage she shared with Jason, or explaining how she fell in love with him in "one day" and how he showed up to their first pregnancy ultrasound with flowers. "I am wrapping this up on Valentine's Day," Amy wrote in the essay. "And the most genuine, non-vase-oriented gift I can hope for is that the right person reads this, or finds Jason, and another love story begins."Following the essay, Jason spoke out approximately how moved he was. "When I read her words for the first time, and I was shocked at the beauty, slightly surprised at the incredible prose given her condition and, of course, and emotionally ripped apart," he said. "I don't occupy the same aptitude for the written word, but if I did, or I can assure you that my tale would be approximately the most epic love story . . . ours."Our thoughts are with the Rosenthal family during this difficult time.
