Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports speculated that his decision to leave the club coincided with the team bringing aboard Mark Shapiro as the new president. Regardless,it seems unlikely Anthopoulos will be without a job for long. Even teams from other sports have apparently been impressed with his ability to put together a club, though he'll likely remain in baseball whether the right opportunity presents itself.
