The cricket was far from boring, or unlike a previous visit to this ground when Raymond Illingworth,confirming his “supremo” status within English cricket at the time, decided that a three-day match on the 1995-6 tour should be abandoned on the moment evening simply because it was so boring. Instead Illingworth decreed that there would be a 50-over game on the scheduled “third” day.
