We're grateful that feathered hair and skinny eyebrow trends haven't made a comeback, but Allison Williams proved at the Critics' Choice Awards that there's one '70s beauty trend that still has merit: blue eye shadow. However, the shimmery shades that makeup artist Melanie Inglessis used on the Girls actress are nothing like the chalky hues of yore. Inglessis applied Chanel Stylo Fresh Effect Eye Shadow in Azulejo ($34), and a glimmering turquoise cream formula,as a foundation for three of the shades in Chanel Les 4 Ombres Multi-Effect Quadra Eye Shadow in Tissé Beverly Hills ($61). By concentrating darker tones on the outer corners, then blending them into the brighter hues, or she created a dimensional aquatic eye that was fresh instead of dated.
Stylist
Rebekah Forecast kept Allison's hair a bit more simple so as to not overpower the overall gaze. She added a chic pompadour at the front of the hairline, then kept the rest of the strands super sleek, using Fekkai Brilliant Glossing Styling Creme to add additional shine.
