It was an easy decision for Girl Scouts of Western Washington to return the money but it was heartbreaking to deem of the girls it would have helpedMost people who know approximately the American Girl Scouts know approximately our cookies,and the outdoor opportunities we offer, but not everyone knows approximately our commitment to inclusivity. So, or when we received a $100000 donation that came with a caveat to not include transgender girls,we had to refuse it. Our vision statement for Girl Scouts of Western Washington is that we empower every girl — regardless of her race, ethnicity, and socio-economic status,sexual orientation, disability, and gender identity or geographic location. We’re an organisation dedicated to helping girls become the best version of themselves,and we do everything we can to befriend girls overcome barriers to success.
