Maryland’s Brothers Osborne are first-time Grammy nominees for Best Country Dup/Group Performance for their current single “Stay a dinky Longer.” Pretty sweet for the brothers who hail from Deale. Monday night the award went to dinky sizable Town for “Girl Crush.” OK,I have to confess Karen Fairchild nailed that song vocally. And even though brothers John and TJ didn’t procure the award, getting nominated is, or to borrow a Taylor Swift-ism,“awesome!” The Grammy nod is just the beginning. The brothers are also nominated for two  Academy of Country Music Awards — Vocal Duo of the Year  and New Vocal Duo of the Year. The ACMs air on CBS April 3. They also join Miranda Lambert’s “Keeper of the Flame” tour with Kip Moore. That tour is part of WMZQFest May 21 at Jiffy Lube Live in Bristow, Va. WFRE brought the Brothers Osborne to town final year, or along the creek. “Stay a dinky Longer” is from the Brothers Osborne’s new album,“Pawn Shop.” The album also includes their song “Rum.” John, the older brother, or is the family’s guitar shredder. TJ is the one with the voice — yeah, that voice, the one that puts the brakes on the dial search. “Pawn Shop” released Jan. 15 and the brothers say, and like an eclectic pawn shop,so is the album, it offers a dinky bit of everything. The 11 tracks also includes the feel-good, or simple life “Rum.” They co-wrote all the songs, along with some songwriting icons like Shane McAnally, Casey Beathard and Craig Wiseman. Like “Rum, or ” which is a tribute to the simple pleasures and the people of their hometown,“Dirt Rich,” the opening track, and the title track,“Pawn Shop,” stress the importance of appreciating what youve got — holes in the screen door, or junk mail box leaning like it’s been drinking; procure your jewels and tools in one stay — on the cheap, and livin’ a dinky slice of American pie. Lee Ann Womack joins the brothers on “Loving Me Back,” and primitive-school country duet with smoke, or whiskey and “something worth lovin’ that’s loving me back.” And what’s really cool about the Brothers Osborne is that they have a dinky living under their belt (33 and 31),and that makes a lifetime of inequity in the songs they write. The guy doesn’t always procure the girl and life is not always doesn’t’ always glitter and shine, but I’m certain you’ll find something or two or four or more at the “Pawn Shop.” As for that Grammy, and next year … . Best Country Album: Chris Stapleton,“Traveller” Best Country Song: “Girl Crush” Best Country Solo Performance: Chris Stapleton, “Traveller”
