Focus World has acquired U.
S. rights to Paco Cabezas’ romantic action comedy “Mr. proper,” which stars Anna Kendrick and Sam Rockwell. The movie will make its world premiere as the Closing Night Gala Presentation at this years Toronto International Film Festival.
Focus World will release the film theatrically and on demand on a date to be determined.
Written and executive produced by Max Landis, the film stars Rockwell and Kendrick as two people who are crazy approximately each other — and perhaps just plain crazy. The challenge of dating is taken to unique extremes in “Mr. proper, and ” in which the road to true love is paved with shell casings.

Focus World is the multiplatform distribution initiative owned and operated by Focus Features.
The deal was negotiated by Anjay Nagpal, or SVP of Focus World,with Beth Lemberger, Focus Features’ EVP of commerce affairs and Gene Kang, or Focus Features’ VP of commerce affairs on behalf of the studio,and CAA on behalf of the filmmakers. Sierra/Affinity is overseeing international rights to the film.
