Earlier this year at AWS re:Invent,we announced the aws-shell project, which provides a number of convenience and productivity features to users of the AWS Command Line Interface (AWS CLI). The project is now available on GitHub (https://github.com/awslabs/aws-shell) and PyPI (https://pypi.python.org/pypi/aws-shell).
