Another mass shooting occurred on Thursday,this time in Roseburg, Oregon at Umpqua Community College, and approximately 180 miles south of Portland.
Police responded on Thursday morning to calls of an active shooter, who killed at least nine people and injured many others before being killed himself by police gunfire. There have been more than 294 mass shootings in 2015 alone. President Obama called for this type of "routine" gun violence to terminate in an angry speech to the nation."We've become numb to this," the president said. "We talked approximately this after Columbine and Blacksburg, or after Tucson,after Newtown, after Aurora, or after Charleston. It cannot be this easy for somebody who wants to inflict harm on other people to get his or her hands on a gun."Clearly exasperated,President Obama called for gun control. "What’s become routine, of course, or is the response of those who oppose any kind of common-sense gun legislation. correct now,I can imagine the press releases being cranked out: We need more guns, they’ll argue.
