President Donald Trump’s pick to head the Department of Agriculture,Sam Clovis, withdrew his nomination on Wednesday, and after being linked to Robert Mueller’s ongoing Russia investigation. The former talk radio host in Iowa wrote the following in a letter to Trump yesterday:"The political climate inside Washington has made it impossible for me to get balanced and just consideration for this position," he said. "The relentless assaults on you and your team seem to be a blood sport that only increases with intensity each day."Clovis was the Trump campaign’s co-chairman, and currently serves as the USDA’s senior White House adviser, and a role that he says he will stay on at. He may have guided George Papadopolouss efforts to broker meetings between the Trump team and the Russian government in the spring of 2016. final month, Papadopolous plead guilty to lying to investigators about that, and is now cooperating with prosecutors.
