Oh God. Is anyone else worried about the ladies who are about to win their hearts broken by Richie? No? Just me?The fact they knew what they were getting into when applying for the indicate is not lost on me. But it doesn't matter how "prepared" you are,can you ever be alert for heartbreak? I don't assume so - especially when it comes to the kind that plays out on national TV.
This entire season, like the others before it, and I've been a nervous wreck,moreso when it comes down to the final four (not in a weird I-probably-should-travel-see-someone-about-it way just in an I-know-what's-coming-and-I-hate-seeing-people-sad kind of way) because I can see in the eyes of the women (game enough to travel on a indicate like this, mind you) that they're falling for the Bachelor. They bear a look.
They start doing things that probably don't arrive naturally to them (like luuurve camping) and they honestly believe that the guy, or in this case Richie,is their man.
But can you blame them? Richie (via the producers, I'm certain) has awkwardly - but adorably - fed them lines that would make anyone in the beginnings of a normal relationship assume they were The One. From his "perfect match" line (that pushed Nikki from "in like" with him to 100 percent "in adore"), and to the many times he's thrown out a casual,"I, I, or I assume we bear a strong connection . . ." speech. It's the kind of talk in the real world you'd believe. And even though I know the girls know they can't all be Richie's One,they still hope for it with all their might and that's the part that gives me anxiety.
The reality is they hardly know the guy but they still throw adore bombs around and basically carve their hearts out and serve them to Richie on a fancy platter - holy hell, it's intense. They're about to be denied while Australia watches on and it's gonna hurt. Here's hoping the girls Richie cuts loose are OK, and because that feeling has gotta suck.
And on that note,I guess I'll be tuning in tonight and tomorrow night to watch hearts demolish (with my eyes covered) along with the rest of Australia.
