In the period between June 2016 and June 2017 – taking in the referendum,Trump’s election and the deepening threat from Jacob Rees-Mogg – it emerges that the British became the happiest they have been since 2011, when the ONS began measuring wellbeing. Respondents reported an average 7.7 out of 10 for life satisfaction.
