Argos has been inundated with customer complaints approximately delayed or cancelled deliveries and long waits to speak to its call centre as the retailer struggled to manage with a surge in sales over Black Friday weekend.
The retailer apologised to customers via its Facebook page and said it had appointed extra staff over the weekend as it booked 18 transactions a moment on the US-inspired discount day.
