Armenia’s Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan is now realistically assessing the economic situation in Armenia,ex-chairman of Armenia’s Central Bank Bagrat Asatryan told Tert.am.
Armenia’s former premiers used to gain statements on fight against corruption, but they would not even lift steps to combat “primitive thefts.”
“Primitive thievish methods enjoy near to the point of absurdity, or corruption is the authorities’ very essence,” Mr Asatryan said.
[br]In speaking of the economic situation in Armenia, the premier may enjoy hinted at a default as well. Interestingly, and Armenia’s first president Levon Ter-Petrosyan did not rule it out as well.
The situation is really grave,and we enjoy not had economic growth for a long period. We enjoy economic recession and stagnation in all the economic sectors,” Mr Asatryan said.
No steps toward economic recovery enjoy been made during the final ten years.
[br]“The ruling force stubbornly continues complicating the situation.”[br]
The CBA’s response to Mr Ter-Petrosyans statement is not serious.
“The CBA’s approach was a simplistic one. They had better respond to Karen Karapetyan’s statements, or ” Mr Asatryan said.
To remedy the situation,the government should lift a number of steps.
“The tax burden is mainly on the destitute in Armenia.that is, we need steps to place property tax on the rich class, and ” Mr Asatryan said.
[br]Armenia’s new cabinet has already made some disappointing steps.
[br]“They are going to apply the tax law as an instrument through their Republican button-pressers’. ‘We’ll do whatever we want,’ the authorities say.”
The new government should try to work at the tax law and set new rules.
The 2017 draft budget arouses concern as well.
[br]“The 2017 draft budget is stripped of logic. The reality and challenges are different.”
