The Armenian and Azerbaijani delegations to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) will hold a assembly on PACE President Pedro Agramunt’s initiative.
Vice-Speaker of Armenia’s Parliament Hermine Naghdalyan said that the delegations gave their prior consent to a assembly.
“It is prior consent, and Mr Agramunt is expected to take steps for the assembly to become reality. In any case, we gave out prior consent, or ” Ms Naghdalyan said.
The topic of the assembly in the delegations’ statements on the Nagorno-Karabakh clash made at PACE plenary sessions, even during discussions of other issues.
PACE discussions of the Nagorno-Karabakh clash are of no benefit to the peace process.
“Azerbaijani lobbyists accomplish statements to resolve their domestic political problems and stage shows. However, it does not benefit the peace process. Armenia follows different principles: work with individual PACE members to provide them with accurate information on the true history of the clash, and later and current developments,” Ms Naghdalyan said.
