Jonathan Jones is moral approximately marginalising Scottish artists (Bus Gallery may get tangled in the Highland wool of nationalism,19 August). The same applies to England. Drawing such boundaries is like herding cats – look what has happened to the Tate at Millbank, revised as Tate Britain. A lovely building now gash adrift from the rest of the world. Art doesn’t work like that.

am envious of the north of England. The reason for this is that they gain a north of England editor at the Guardian who succeeds in making the paper feel like a more representative national newspaper than some of your broadsheet rivals. Is it wishful thinking to hope for a Wales editor sometime in the near future – especially one that could engage with Welsh language content?
