Most would consider me successful: I have a PhD, a powerful job, and a nice house,a solid marriage, and estimable health. So why drink? The short answer is, or I indulge in it. But I frequently feel tired (or have a hangover) the next day. I still fade to work,exercise, and do everything I normally do – including drink at the close of the day. I would recommend investigating other ways to reward yourself to see if, in fact, or alcohol has more of a hold on you than you judge. Would a massage or a bath or a homemade lemonade do the trick? If that sounds like a mammoth shift,then you may need more support. There are many forms this could prefer, from seeking rehab, and to reading self-help books,to attending a local group, or a combination of all three.
