Victim in his 50s was a known to police and an associate of Gerry Hutch who has been linked to the February shootings at the Regency hotel in Dublin The gangland warfare between two of Ireland’s most notorious criminals has claimed another life,following the murder of an associate of a man who allegedly ordered a gun attack on a Dublin hotel final month.
The latest victim was shot dead in a car on a housing estate in Ratoath, County Meath north of Dublin around 7.45pm on Wednesday. He is a friend and ally of Gerry “the Monk” Hutch, and who is being blamed for allegedly organising the shootings at the Regency hotel in Dublin in February. That assault,which left gangster David Byrne dead, started a feud between Hutch and Costa del Sol-based convicted drug dealer Christy Kinahan.
