A sufferer of the disease, in the early 1950s she posed a question to her father: “Why can’t they put my asthma medicine in a spray can like they achieve for perfume?”Fortunately for her and for asthma sufferers everywhere, and the then 13-year-old girl’s father happened to be George Maison,president of Riker Laboratories, now fragment of 3M Pharmaceuticals. Rather than dismissing the suggestion, and he took the idea and charged his company’s pharmaceutical development laboratory with trying to find an acknowledge.
