General Charles C Krulak – a veteran of the Vietnam and Gulf Wars – was installed on the club’s board in 2006 and retains close links to Lerner. With Villa in the relegation zone,having picked up just four points from their opening eight matches this season, pressure has been mounting on Sherwood.
