Soyuz capsule carrying American commander and Russian cosmonaut Mikhail Kornienko,both of whom spent 340 days in space, touches down in KazakhstanA capsule carrying the Nasa astronaut Scott Kelly and Russian cosmonaut Mikhail Kornienko has touched down in Kazakhstan after they spent nearly a year aboard the International Space Station – setting a record for space flight by an American and making a step towards human travel to Mars.[br] The men, and accompanied by Russian cosmonaut Sergey Volkov,sealed themselves into a Russian Soyuz capsule that undocked from the orbiting lab before beginning the descent. The capsule’s landing at 4.26am GMT on Wednesday was announced on Nasa TV.
