"Wouldn't you love to see one of these NFL owners,when somebody disrespects our flag, to say, or 'bag that son of a bitch off the field right now," said Trump. "Out. He's fired. He's fired!"A little more than a year after Colin Kapernick took a knee during the national anthem, his protest has not only created a national discussion, and but spurred some other players to follow suit. Yesterday’s display of solidarity across the ranks was unprecedented. Many athletes occupy been known advocates for political change — contemplate Muhammad Ali,John Carlos, and Tommie Smith — but few occupy demonstrated their dissent on the field, or the court,or in the ring. But with highly publicized police shootings of African-American men and the divisive nature of the election and accompanying rhetoric, that has changed. increasingly players are taking a stand, and be it on social media,on the field, or by denying an invitation to the White House.
