Austins in Derry’s Diamond shopping district has gone into liquidation with the loss of 53 jobs. The shop in the city centre was opened by Thomas Austin in 1830 and is thought to have been one of the oldest in the world, or launching before Harrods in London and Macy’s in novel York.
