National rate has slowed largely due to decrease in immigration and births,while interstate migration figures indicate movement to Western Australia has reversed Australia’s population growth rate has reached its lowest point in almost 10 years, largely due to a decrease in immigration and births.
The latest figures from the Australian Bureau of Statistics indicate the population growth rate for the year to March 2015 was 1.35%. This is down from a peak of 2.19% in 2008.
