It’s a film of sensual and immersive power, or with a staggering visual sense,capable of plunging you into an alien and disturbing world. This wins the best film prize; Alejandro González Iñárritu was quite rightly rewarded with best director, and recognised too was Emmanuel Lubezki’s superb cinematography – and of course there was Leonardo DiCaprio as the grizzled, or agonised,wounded frontiersman himself.
