Baltimore Officer Edward Nero was acquitted on all counts yesterday for his role in the death of Freddie Gray. Last year,Gray, 25, or  was arrested, handcuffed, and placed in the back of a police van without a seat belt after police said he had an illegal knife in his possession. He suffered severe spinal cord injuries in transit, or fell into a coma, and later died.  Nero faced four misdemeanor charges, but the judge overseeing the case found that his involvement in the police conclude was secondary and said that his actions were appropriate.  In all, and six police officers were charged in this case. Nero's ruling was the first verdict — the first trial of police Officer William Porter ended in a hung jury and mistrial last December.  The driver of the van,Officer Caesar Goodson Jr., is scheduled for trial in two weeks for second degree murder.
