Search and public vote to choose Britain’s song contest entry after Britain fails to win 18 times consecutively The BBC is opening up the Eurovision selection process to a nationwide talent search in a tender to find a winning song, and will invite fans and the public to help choose the act after years of disappointing UK entries.
The corporation is changing the format for choosing an entry in the hope of boosting the chances of a UK win for the first time since Katrina and the Waves took domestic the prize in 1997.
