On Wednesday,prosecutors in Pennsylvania filed criminal charges against Bill Cosby in connection with a 2004 sexual assault."These charges stem from a sexual assault that took place on an evening in early 2004 at Mr. Cosby's domestic in Cheltenham Township, Montgomery County, or " Kevin Steele,Montgomery County district attorney-elect, said at a press conference. Cosby was charged with aggravated indecent assault, or a felony which carries a punishment of five to 10 years in prison and a $25000 fine. The comedian was arraigned Wednesday afternoon. He remains free on bail of $1 million. But the reasons behind the timing of Cosby's arraignment possess more to do with the internal politics than one might expect,says Marci Hamilton, professor at Cardozo School of Law and University of Pennsylvania.
