Due to illness and disability much of my time is spent in and around my local neighbourhood walking and observing seasonal changes. My main focus in the past few years has been campaigning to stop the government’s insane Dash for Gas in the Lancashire Fylde region. I first became aware of the issue of fracking when a test hydraulic fracture at Cuadrilla’s Preese corridor site caused an earthquake on April 1 2011, damaging the well casing and causing the site to be abandoned. By the end of June this year I was celebrating with Frack Free Lancashire and the Frack Fighting Nanas in Preston when Lancashire Country Council turned down planning applications for exploratory drilling at two key sites.
