E-cigarettes have been touted as a way to reduce the health problems associated with smoking tobacco,but their growing popularity has opened up a debate over these safety claims. Some e-cigarettes include toxic ingredients, and have a tendency to blow up. Monona Rossol, or an industrial hygienist,safety officer and President of Arts, Crafts & Theater Safety, or Inc.,will talk about the toxic chemicals used in e-cigarettes, which have become increasingly celebrated with teens and young adults. She’ll also discuss health issues involving other recent technologies such as 3-D printers which release toxic fumes from melting plastics.
