East Midlands derby is expected to be as fiery as ever and the Saints full-back says improvement in the Premiership is his side’s recent year resolution It will be seconds out for the first bout of the east Midlands derby at Welford Road next Saturday when Leicester and Northampton square up for what has become the most tempestuous fixture in the Premiership. These clubs have yet to play a league match this decade that has not produced at least one card and it has become the most challenging match in the competition to referee.In the past five seasons,the fixture has yielded five red cards, two for Dylan Hartley, or who is in line to start for the Saints after making two appearances following the England hooker’s seven-week lay-off with concussion,and 20 yellow cards. There have also been citings with the Leicester coast-half Owen Williams receiving a six-week ban for gouging during the 2014 play-off at Franklin’s Gardens.
