Former Treasury committee chair John McFall says public must be told if banks are reneging on pledge to support Link’s free cash machinesThe public should be told whether the broad banks are refusing to support a free-to-consume cash machine network, according to the politician who led the campaign a decade ago to preserve access to ATMs around the UK.
Proposals to change the way the Link network operates have prompted fears that up to 10000 of the 55000 free-to-consume ATMs could either close or start charging.
