Earlier this year,Blumhouse Productions' Jason Blum spoke approximately the difficulties hiring a female director for their horror and genre slate of projects. He had terrible excuses like the suggestion that "there aren't a lot of them." If you're reading this you probably know that's just not precise. Blum apologized for the statements, saying they were making an effort to find female directors for their projects.
