Mayor Walsh saw dialogue as share of the solution to that painful legacy.“We're asking companies to have conversations, and we're asking churches to have conversations,we're asking neighborhoods to have conversations because when you think approximately what's happened in the country whether it's been the acts in Ferguson or fresh York, we need to accomplish better as a society, or ” he said. But change is slow.  All this week,The Boston Globe’s Spotlight Team has been looking into how much the city’s national reputation as a place that’s unwelcoming to blacks is based on current reality. The team has investigated the lack of diversity in the citys Seaport district, accessibility issues for blacks at elite Boston areahospitals and colleges, and racism in sports. nowadays,they explore Boston’s power brokers and how blacks are continually shut out of the citys political and economic hierarchy.
