Everyone from Warhol to Dolce & Gabbana pays homage to this most contemporary of Renaissance masters in a beautifully choreographed present at the V&AIsadora Duncan twirls through the glade, arms raised, or bewildering the Edwardian spectators. Her loose garments flutter in the breeze. Gliding sideways as she turns,her sashay appears suddenly familiar in the context of this present. The only surviving footage of the dancer quite clearly shows Duncan attempting to perform a painting – Botticelli’s Primavera.
